• The jury of the ‘Sustainable Company Awards’, promoted by Laboral Kutxa and the Official Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Services of Navarra, highlighted that the company “has made sustainability part of its purpose.”
Azkoyen Group, a leading Spanish multinational technology company offering automated products and services designed to bring unique experiences to people in their daily lives, received the ‘Sustainable Company Award’ yesterday, promoted by Laboral Kutxa and the Navarra Chamber of Commerce as part of the ‘Sustainable Company Awards’.
These awards, according to the organizing entities, “aim to recognize the commitment made by Navarrese companies in terms of sustainability and to disseminate the social, environmental, and governance measures they implement within their organizations.” The jury, composed of Pello Bayona, Director of Companies at Laboral Kutxa in Navarra; Eva Fontecha, Project Manager at the Navarra Chamber of Commerce; and Erik Zabala, Business CEO at Zabala Innovation, highlighted that Azkoyen Group “accompanies its growth with solid ESG (environmental, social, and governance) values throughout its value chain, integrating SDG principles into its business strategy, caring for people, respecting the environment, and maintaining integrity and transparency in its activities.”
The award was received by Juanje Alberdi, CEO of Azkoyen, who expressed his gratitude for the award and highlighted the company’s commitment to sustainable development. “The key to sustainability is that it is competitive and profitable, but without forgetting the environmental and social impact.” Additionally, Alberdi invited all Navarrese companies to join the transition towards sustainability by incorporating it integrally into their business strategies.
Main ESG Actions
Regarding the environmental field, among other initiatives, Azkoyen Group has established measures that reduce greenhouse gas emissions, implemented environmental management systems that reduce waste volume, and promoted initiatives that favor the circular economy. Furthermore, the company has developed environmental measures in product design, such as carbon footprint measurement or increased energy efficiency, both for the manufactured products and for the components supplied by the supplier chain.
The company’s social commitments include fair working conditions, a safe work environment, professional development opportunities, actions that respect and promote employee diversity and equality, as well as building ties with communities affected by its business activities, among many others.
The commitment to good governance includes ethical and responsible practices, compliance with current regulations, actions that prevent corruption, and appropriate practices in the management of personal data.
The efforts made have earned an overall ESG rating of BBB from the Spanish Institute of Analysts, as well as an improvement in the sustainability evaluation by EcoVadis, which awarded Grupo Azkoyen the silver medal. These recognitions are now joined by the ‘Sustainable Company Award’ from the Navarra Chamber of Commerce.
Laboral Kutxa and the Navarra Chamber of Commerce also awarded Ingredalia with the ‘Sustainable Project Award’ for its work in utilizing vegetable products for consumption, thus reducing food waste.
